Zinc-clad steel earthing product introduction 

The product is the bi-metallic composite material which is formed by compositing the high purity zinc on low-carbon steel surface through special treatment process. This product integrates the advantages of zinc ribbon anode and traditional galvanized steel earthing materials, so that it not only has high strength and relatively high thermal stability of steel but also is provided with the function of cathodic protection.


Main performance indexes  
1. DC resistivity before and after short-time withstand current test≤0.11Ω.mm/m.
2. After 10KA/1s short-time withstand current test, the product surface has no visible damage or deformation and the zinc layer is not falling off.


Product advantages

  1. The zinc-clad copper composite earthing electrode adopts low-carbon steel as the steel core which has high strength and thermal stability of steel, so as to guarantee the earthing and flow discharge function.

  2. Compared with steel, zinc, as the cladding metal, is 2.5 times better in the aspect of conductivity performance and it has better conductivity performance.

  3. As the cladding metal, zinc has relatively strong corrosion resistance property; as a result, service life is greatly extended.

  4. The zinc layer (thickness is more than 3mm) coated on the product can act as the sacrificial anode to protect ground network, underground metal structures and relevant steel equipment.


Characteristics of zinc-clad steel

  1. Unique manufacturing technology: “lowering and continuous casting” technology is adopted to composite the pure zinc on the low-carbon steel, so as to get bi-metallic composite conductor.

  2. Better anti-corrosion characteristics: The anti-corrosion property is strong enough to guarantee 50-year long service life. Internationally most advanced technology is adopted so that there is no residue in the zinc-clad copper and electrochemical corrosion is avoided; the anti-corrosion treatment is applied to the bar surface to overcome the short service life caused by earthing corrosion of the traditional flat steel and round steel.

  3. Better electric appliance performance: the surface is 0﹟ pure zinc and with the thickness of more than 3mm, the zinc layer will not be damaged, so as to guarantee good conductive property and stable electrical property.

  4. Construction convenience: Low-carbon steel which has relatively large cross section is selected for the earthing electrode of zinc-clad steel, so as to guarantee the mechanical strength, thermal stability and conductivity of this product.

  6. The thick zinc layer guarantees cathodic protection of the equipment and solves two problems (cathodic protection and earthing) once for all; as a result, the engineering cost is greatly reduced.
